Anita Lie earned her M.A. in English and Doctor of Education in the area of curriculum and instruction from Baylor University, U.S.A. She taught in the English Department, Petra Christian University from 1987 to 2001. She served as Dean of the Faculty of Letters from 1999 to 2002 and resigned from Petra Christian University in June 2002.
In 1996 she was a guest lecturer in Curriculum Design and Implementation at SEAMEO RELC, Singapore. She was a guest lecturer in various prestigious universities. Among them are: Yonsei University in Korea, Kwansei Gakuin and Momoyama Gakuin in Japan, Fu Jen University and Soo Chow University in Taiwan, Chinese University and Lingnan University in Hong Kong, Assumption University and Chulalongkorn University in Thailand, Ateneo de Manila University and De La Salle University in the Phillippines, and University of Brunei Darussalam in Brunei, and University of Putra Malaysia and Unviersity of Kebangsaan Malaysia.
She earned several awards including The Rotary International Ambassador of Good Will, PEO, and ACUCA Fellowship. In 2000, she was granted the SEAMEO Jasper Fellowship Award for Best Research from the government of Canada for her research on the English curriculum in Indonesia.
Dr. Anita Lie serves as the General Secretary of East Java Board of Education and a member of the Council of Experts for the East Java government for the period of 2003-2008. Currently, Dr. Anita Lie is a member of the Indonesian Community for Democracy, the Director of EduBusiness Consulting, Heritage Language School, and consultant of several schools. She has published children books as well as resource books for parents and teachers. In addition, she has published numerous newspaper articles.
